We are each now creating the new normal.
Will we do it together?
- To expand your own power in the actual networks that will now re-shape our organizations.
- To create antidotes to damaging, dominating forms of power.
- To bring your peers and clients a few simple ways to expand their power.
May 1, 9 AM-Noon. We will explore and experiment together.
An Open Door? Where might the disruption help?
Power & Networks. How can they expand our OD work?
Power Lab. How can we bring Power to Life here?
How might CODIC help empower us (and our allies around the world) in creating a better "new normal"?
A Power Lab helps consultants and clients focus the power that shapes each organization. We've used Power Labs in crisis and strategic planning with dozens of global corporations, government and non-profit organizations that had to change suddenly. But we did not do the Power Labs online. This experiment may give you ideas for your own next experiments.
My Own Power Now. How will I expand it?
For 3 weeks after the program, you may join a pair or a small group for your own experiment.
May 22, 9:00 - 10:30 AM. We will reconvene as a Power Huddle, to learn from each other's experiments. Note: Session 2 is only for those who attend Part 1 on May 1.
What did we each try? What are we all finding?
Bruce has consulted over 135 organizations in the US and overseas in a 40-year OD practice as an internal consultant, external consultant and manager. He has also trained over 1,000 in strategic consulting and taught OD, power, strategy and other leadership topics in nine graduate schools.
In many of these, “live systemic power” is the magic that made the larger outcomes stick. The expanded power has been used in Walgreens, Motorola, and Conoco-Phillips, creative non-profits such as Working Bikes and Family Shelter Services, and governmental units of the US and Scotland.
Bruce is Former President of the OD Network of Chicago. He holds an MS in OD, a BFA in Industrial Design, and the CPTD of ATD. He has served for 15 years as evaluator for ADT’s Excellence in Practice and BEST Awards, and he co-created the Impact Awards of the OD Network of Chicago. He is currently writing a book on "Impact."
