9:00-12:00 PM - Program In-Progress

Karen Wells had to reschedule for November session. We look forward to her joining us at a future date.

Larry Kokkelenberg and Regan Miller have graciously moved their program up to cover.  We are excited to have them lead us through their Discovery Interview Workshop that you're not going to want to miss!

This is a skill development workshop, not a presentation, which means that you will be actively engaged throughout our time together; involved in answering questions, practice sessions, and discussions.

We ask that you activate both your sound and video functions through our entire time together.

While overlapping at times, the discovery interview is different from appreciative inquiry, dialogic OD and Clean language approaches.

We look forward to being with you.

PROGRAM OUTLINE

The discovery interview is both a mindset and a skill set; a process for obtaining clarity and specificity.  It is a method of questioning that is often used in the diagnostic phase but in reality, can be used anytime clarification is important.  While there are some areas of overlap with clear language, appreciative inquiry, and dialogic OD, it is far richer in data gathering allowing the interviewer to gain a more complete picture of the current environment. While seemingly simple, being able to get the clarity and specific details from a client is challenging. Come prepared to practice this skill in our workshop.

1. Develop greater skill in asking clarifying questions

2. Develop your ability to get a complete picture

3. Build a relationship with your clients through listening and understanding
