What Will Be the New Work Model? Make it Meaningful!

Once in a generation we have the opportunity to reimagine how we work. Approximately nine out of 10 workers want to maintain remote work. (Gallup). Yet many senior leaders are still resisting. What will the new work model? How will organizations respond? How can human resources professionals help them?

Session Description

Hybrid work is here to stay! How prepared are organizations to meet this major shift in the workforce? How prepared are you to assist them? Join us as we consider the impacts of a more virtual and flexible workplace.

In this practice workshop, we’ll consider some of the latest research into what workers want and how organizations may respond to these shifting dynamics. You’ll be introduced to an assessment of critical success factors all organizations must address to create a high performing workforce for the 21st century. With the assessment as a guide, you’ll be a member of a consulting team to analyze, interview, discuss, and. offer recommendations to the leader of an organization that’s navigating these challenges and opportunities to create their new work model.

Session Objectives

  • Apply your OD and consulting skills to organizational representatives (clients) whose organizations are considering a transition to a (more) remote or hybrid organizational structure.
  • Utilize client feedback to inquire and offer suggestions/recommendations for a client to consider as they support their organization’s transition.
  • Strengthen your consulting skills to organizations considering or engaging in a transition to a new work model that includes a matrix of onsite, remote, and hybrid team members.

Our Presenter

Since 2002, Lee has been the Founder and Principal of Partners in Development (PID). The motto of PID, “Closing Gaps in Workplace Performance,” acknowledges that there are many reasons why organizations and their team members either do or don’t achieve their expected results. Lee works with them to discover all the reasons and apply solutions to close them. He specializes in helping virtual team leaders and members feel like they're working in the same room—even when they're not. In 2019, he released the 2nd edition of his book, “Literally Virtually, Making Virtual Teams Work.”
