ImprovThis: Three Pillars of Improv™ for Business Professionals
At ImprovThis, we specialize in creating and facilitating fun interactive team building workshops where we use the Three Pillars of Improv™ to teach business professionals how to be more effective in their careers. And we’ll prove it to you in this presentation. In just over two-hours we’ll provide you with the answers to life, the universe, and everything! Well, I don’t know about all that. But I can say you’ll have fun, create closer relationships with other participants, and gain at least three soft-skill takeaways you can use at the office the very next day. If you go to work on Sunday. Otherwise, you may have to wait until the very next, next day to start using them in your office.
Steve earned his MBA from DePaul University and set off to a career at Fortune 50 and Ad Age 50 companies. But he found his passion when he took his first class at the Second City Training Center in 2002. Steve immediately fell in love with improv and the more he improvised on stage, the more he saw how transferrable his improv skills were to his corporate jobs.
Since that first class, Steve has been through many of Chicago’s best Improv programs including ComedySportz, Laugh Out Loud Theater, and New Choice Improv. Steve has performed everything from bar-prov to headlining on the main stage and he’s run the gambit behind the scenes as well by doing things like sketch writing, directing, coaching, and stage managing.
Steve has worked with countless teams, instructing them on how to communicate more effectively, build closer knit teams, set SMART goals, work through challenging situations, and in other general leadership qualities.

Sue has held many hats throughout her professional life and through it all improv has played a major role. “You know, I’ve been doing Improv my entire career. I still perform on stage today, and I love to dabble in Stand-up on the side.”
Sue’s interest in Leadership Development as a Facilitator / Trainer has led her to work in a wide range of jobs that span from the Fortune 100 to civil service in municipal government. In the past, she has put her skills to work as a first-class flight attendant and trainer at a major airline. Currently, Sue is using her improv skills as a Manager at the City of Evanston Police Department and on the board of directors at AGCCP.
Sue’s improv background includes studying at many improvisation institutions including Second City, Laugh Out Loud, Players Workshoppe of Second City and, as she says, “The school of real-life”.
